 Kindergarten Pick Up

To help improve student pick up for our kindergarteners in front of the school, we are going to make a few slight adjustments.

In addition to the gate we have been using, we will begin opening the gate east of the portable. We will then have all the kindergarten students stand in front of the portable in a “Kindergarten Zone” marked with cones. We ask that parents stand outside of the area to allow room for the students and teachers. Once you have seen your child’s class exit the gate and enter the Kindergarten Zone, you are invited to approach the area and pick up your child.

EXCEPTION: On Tuesday, which is our library day, their class will be exiting the school from the main front doors.

Carpool students will continue to meet in the back and load from the left side of the vehicle.

Thank you for your support and patience

Miss you Muffins and Spirit Shirt Sale

 First Day of Kindergarten!

We are excited for our FIRST DAY of school on Wednesday.

What to bring: Please send your child with headphones and a water bottle. We encourage you to label these items.

Drop-off: Students are invited to play outside until the 8:22 whistle. They will then line up outside the portable. (Breakfast is available everyday, prior to the start of class in the lunchroom).

Pick-up: If you are participating in the carpool parking or daycare van pickup, we will bring your child to the pick up area in the back of the school. All other students will be brought to the gate between Q1 and Q2. You are welcome to park, use the crosswalk and come get your kindergartener. You are also welcome to have another designated student (ie siblings) come get your child and take them to a pickup spot of your choosing. Students will remain with us until they have been successful transferred to the care of a parent, caretaker, sibling, or other designated person.

Preparing For Kindergarten

Kindergarten = A BIG CHANGE for your child

Some students adjust very well and LOVE Kindergarten right away!

Some students… don’t and may go through an adjustment period.

Breakfast and lunch will be available for our Kindergarten students.  Breakfast is $0.40 for students that qualify for the reduced price and $1.50 for full pay students. We encourage you to submit an online free/reduced meal application through your Aspire account.  It is a super quick process.

Breakfast is provided prior to the start of class (8:00-8:20am). Students eating breakfast should go directly to the lunchroom when they arrive at the school. Parents are welcome to accompany their child to the lunchroom for breakfast.

Lunch will cost $0.40 for students that qualify for the reduced price and $2.00 for all full pay students. For lunch, students will choose either a hot or cold entree. They will also have access to our full salad bar with a variety of fruits and vegetables.

The breakfast and lunch menus can be found at the following link. Quest Academy’s Menu

Our lunchroom staff will be available during Back to School night to answer questions and to allow the students to see the lunchroom. If your child has any allergies, this is a great time to talk with the staff. Note: All allergies need to be documented in Aspire.

You may contact Stephanie Hadley (shadley@questac.org) if you have any questions.

Due to our early lunch time, full day Kindergarten students will have an afternoon snack 1:50-1:55 before recess (excluding early out days). Healthy snacks can be brought from home or provided by the teacher. Donations are accepted and appreciated.

Please complete the following permission form to indicate which food items your child can eat:

 Dress Code

We frequently receive questions concerning the school dress code.  For your convenience, the dress code can be found in two places on this blog. It can be found by clicking on the  "Parent Information" tab and then clicking on "dress code" OR the "Quest Academy" tab and then clicking on "dress code".  This may be helpful when back-to-school shopping.

Parking Lot Procedures.

We frequently receive questions regarding how to navigate the Quest parking lot, for example:

  • “Where do I pick up and drop off my student?”
  • “I’m hearing people talk about stacking lanes. What are they talking about?”
  • “Can I park in a stall and have my student come to me?”

Whether you are new to Quest or a Quest veteran, please take a moment and view this informative AND entertaining video about the parking lot procedures at Quest. Please share with anyone who will be driving your child to and/or from school.
